Jolt Energy Drink is a cola with a lot of caffeine, which
originates from the United States and was created in 1985 by
C.J. Rapp. At the beginning it was sold in a red aluminum tin with
blue bolts of lightning streaking across the side. It’s now famous
logo has the word jolt in capital letters across the can.
The first few years of the jolt energy drink’s existence were quite
controversial, especially with parents of a family. Its initial
advertisements often made use of sexual content looking for the
attention of the young people’s market, probably the male half. Also,
the early recipe of jolt cola contained more sugar than its current
formula, but it still has as much sugar in it as other popular Brands
of cola drinks. In addition to this it also has approximately the
same amount of caffeine in it as a regular cup of coffee, but not as
much as an espresso or other types of coffee. It has around two times
the quantity of caffeine when compared to a can of Coca-Cola. In
fact, one of its first slogans was “all the sugar, and twice the
caffeine”! Since it is an energy drink, jolt cola is a preferred soft
drink among many youngsters and sports players.
It was produced by a company called jolt cola out of Rochester New
York, but the company has since changed its name to wet planet
beverages, as they now offer a more varied line of products.
The drink usually comes in two sizes, those being a 12 oz version
and a 16 oz version. There are also many flavors such as grape,
orange and raspberry. You can expect to pay about a dollar for the 12
ounce can, and although this is more expensive than a standard can of
Coca-Cola, jolt energy drinks offer a sustained recharge of your
energy levels! And as proof of this, the 12 ounce can of jolt
contains 140mg of caffeine as well as 1400mg of taurine, which is an
energy-delivering chemical like no other.
So if you are looking for a quick hit for your revision, or just
for that late night gaming session, try cracking open a can of
jolt!
